Aston Villa confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen for the signing of Leon Bailey.
And, as to be expected, a number of Villa supporters went wild at the club’s Saturday post on social media.
Villa revealed that Bailey needs to undergo a medical and sign off on personal terms before a transfer can be officially completed, with a move thought to be costing Villa £30m.
Bailey looks set to leave Leverkusen four-and-a-half years after joining from Genk for £12.15m.
The Jamaican, capable of playing anywhere across the front line, made 156 appearances for the German side, scoring 39 times and registering 26 assists.
Should a move be finalised for £30m, Bailey would become Villa’s third most expensive signing of all-time behind Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Buendia.
Villa fans react
Villa shared the news regarding Bailey with their fans on their official Twitter page. This is what these supporters had to say in reply, with one describing it as ‘great’.
