Tottenham Hotspur fans have been sent into meltdown following the latest news on star striker and captain Harry Kane – and no, it’s not about his injury situation.
According to the Telegraph’s Matt Law, the Englishman will consider his future at the club this summer as Jose Mourinho and Daniel Levy face a battle to convince him that he doesn’t need to leave to further his career.
Spurs could miss out on Champions League qualification as they now sit five points back from the top four in the Premier League and will have to overcome an away goal at RB Leipzig to advance in this year’s tournament.
The 26-year-old who is aiming for a return to action before this summer’s Euro 2020 Championship is entering the peak years of his career and will surely want to be competing at the highest level possible.
Their last trophy came back in 2008 when they clinched the League Cup, which is another thing against their favour.
Here’s what supporters have been saying…
Some of the general responses to the news had some members of the Spurs faithful torn – one said he couldn’t see it happening whilst another believed the club would be in a relegation battle next season if Kane were to leave.
There was even a suggestion that the skipper would follow ex-manager Mauricio Pochettino to Premier League rivals Manchester United – if that move ever happens as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still remains in the job.
The Argentine has been linked to the Old Trafford post in the past, as per the Mirror.
This bombshell has led to others gunning for the club’s ownership, the ENIC Group, and chairman Daniel Levy…
One fan believes Levy would be toast if Kane were to exit the north London side anytime soon while another suggested that the club needed a serious takeover before they end up becoming West Ham.
“ENIC OUT” was a recurring comment made throughout the responses so it’s clear that many at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are coming to the end of their tether with the ongoing situation behind the scenes.

Whilst some wouldn’t blame their top goalscorer for getting out while he can, especially as it is only right he tries to further his career during his prime years.
Kane has scored 181 goals in 278 appearances for Spurs, including 17 this season, making him top the charts despite being injured since New Year’s Day – while Transfermarkt also currently value him at £135m but it remains to be seen what sort of fee he would command come the summer.
