Spurs have been in poor formRicharlison has 11 goals in all competitionsPostecoglou wants to bring fresh faces inWHAT HAPPENED?
The Spurs boss was visibly unhappy with Tottenham's recent 2-0 loss to Chelsea, which came less than a week after the damning defeat to Arsenal at home. Richarlison has been hit and miss since joining from Everton in 2022 and is yet to justify the £60 million ($75.5m) Tottenham forked out for the 26-year-old despite nearly quadrupling his goal output from last season. According to Postecoglou is said to be keen to cash in on some of the club's fringe players, including Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Emerson Royal alongside Richarlison.

Speaking ahead of the trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on Sunday, Postecoglou warned change is needed to make Spurs competitive. He said: "We need change. Change has to happen. You can’t want to alter your course and expect the same people are going to be on that [journey]. It’s just not going to happen,
"We’ve had two [transfer] windows and we’ve had some development of players, for sure. But when I say we’ve still got a long way to go, that’s what I’m talking about.
"It’s just that we’re going to play a certain way, we’re going to train a certain way and we’re going to have a certain mindset, and that’s not for everyone.
“And the same way, whether it’s Liverpool or Arsenal, if you look at the beginning of their journeys, by the time they win the competition or have success, the team’s almost unrecognisable."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Richarlison has been linked with a move away from the capital for a while now and he simply is not proving to be the man to fill Harry Kane's boots. The 48-cap international still has three years left on his contract but has been reportedly drawing interest from Saudi Arabia ahead of the summer transfer window. Spurs need to make some significant steps during the break if they are going to compete with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City next season and moving Richarlison on may be in the best interests of both parties.

Tottenham will face a tough test against Liverpool on Sunday as they look to cement their position in Europe next season but the Reds are in a sticky patch of form themselves. Richarlison has not scored since the start of February and will be out to prove a point against his old Merseyside rivals.
